Reason to Choose IriS

There is a wise word "Think Globaly Act Locally"

What the meaning of that word ? For us, that word mean that to build a solution, you must go from the basic of human need, and then you must make some integration of your solution with some existing facility that can you use(policy, ethics, etc).

From that theory, IriS was born with two power that can make IriS be a powerful solution to solve world toughest human problem in this world. Because, IriS can be connect to our nation (Local) and also in our world (Global).

In local policy (Indonesia), IriS can be connected to two our goverment program, that is :

1. Indonesia Sehat 2015

2. Electronic KTP (e-KTP)

3. From the global perspective, IriS also inline with Millenium Development Goals 2015 from United Nation, and IriS take point 5 and 8 from that

"In my opinion, it is a good thing. With the note that this application has to be competent and always update with medical world, so the result that we get can be responsible and 99% accurate, because if it has no accuracy, I think it’s nothing and only waste our time. About the scheduling to the doctor, I think it’s really needed when someone can’t schedule themselves, because of that, I think this application is better if we combine with the schedule of user, so anytime user wants to check their schedule, they will remember to check their health and think to arrange schedule with doctor." "Maybe it's a solution helping busy people and have a little time to go to doctor. "Based on my experience, when I was sick I didn’t check myself to doctor directly, but I tried to cure it by myself by taking a rest or consume some medicine, and if I can’t cure it then I would go to doctor. Time to Talking About Fact

Are you like waiting ? for example waiting in a queueing ?

I think there's no people like in that condition right ?

We can lost our productivity, our chance, or maybe our life..

Okay, in this project we have done a mini survey to 250 people with a random background they have (Students, Workers, Doctors, Engineers,etc)

First question that we have asked about queuing.

Refer to the diagram, you can see almost people agree with us that queueing is waste human productivity.

Maybe you want to ask about what is relationship of our system with this condition, right ?

In our system, we prevent people to queueing especially in hospital by "Making an appoinment" features, so before go to the hospital/clinic, we can arrange they schedule to the hospital based on user location. So the suggestion that we give to them is the nearest location and the fastest schedule they can get, so they won't see a long queueing to check their own healt with doctor in hospital/clinic.

As our second question to our correspondent, we have asked them are making an appoinment is an another solution to prevent a long queueing. The result is :

93% of total our correspondent is agree with us, that making an appoinment is a solution to prevent their see a long queueing, especially with doctor in hospital/clinic.

Now, time to blend a traditional solution with technology guys :)

In technology era like now, we everything that can help us to increase our life quality, right ?

So we manage a solution to making appoinment using techonology to solve that problem.

Okay, now let's take a look of other our highlight,

yes, it's about healthy

We have asked our correspondent about what their opinion "early detection" as our third question in this mini survey.

Refer to the diagram above, you can see there are 88% of our correspondet is agree with us that early detection is an importance thing to do to keep healthy in our side. Why early detection impontant ? Because with early detection, we can prevent ourselves from the worsk risk happen with us.

So, where our solution's side in this case ? Absolutely our solution purpose this point, and also before we go further in this project, we have asked our correspondent about our purpose to make a solution as our early detection way in our body, and it is the fourth question in our mini survey.

They want there a solution that using technology to facilitate they to do early detection way to their body. And also our solution great solution to increase people's awareness of their body condition as their preventive way to keep healthy.

What is the two things most valuable in this life ?

The answer is time and health.

With time and health, we can do a lot of productive things to improve ourselves and our life quality. Time and health are also two things to be consistent rhythm in life, imagine when there is an opportunity that comes to you when you are sick and eventually the opportunity is lost because of the "health" are not yours, otherwise for example in a case where you stuck in traffic on the road / departure of your flight was delayed so that you lose the chance to win a big project in your work because the "time" is not in your favor.
Yes, time and health and harmony between the two is the second most important thing in our lives.

Nowdays, there are so many people that do not feel the diseases suffered, such as kidney disease or even cancer. All of those diseases are known after give bad effects on their health. Subsequently, they will feel the pain. Furthermore, there are also people that already feel something wrong inside their body but they just don't want to consult with doctor. Even, they seem don't have much time to check themselves because they are too busy with their job.
The bad effects of disease, of course, can be avoided if we can detect them early. The disease, such as kidney disease and *** cancer, have been proved that it can be reduced if we can detect it early. Medical science does concur that the eyes may reveal certain illnesses like tuberculosis, arteriosclerosis, and drug use. A muddy or clouded iris, for example, may indicate rheumatoid arthritis2.(www.skeptically.org)

SOLUTION

The problem emerged is most people unwilling to consult with doctor and check their health early. However, it can be solved by Iridology. Only with analyze the eye images, iridology can be used to early identify disease. It can be a practical and great solution to prevent worse impact for human life caused by disease.

Iridology
Iridology is a medical method; it uses eyes to detect several diseases inside our body. This method says that iris from our eyes draws current body condition. It believes that iris has patterns and different colors for each body condition. Iridologists say that every detail on iris tells us about organ condition inside our body.

Iridology detects disease inside our body through our eyes. Then the condition of our iris compared with the Iridology Chart, a chart that shows us the patterns of iris that draws our body condition. Iridologists believe the iris is divided into 40 zones, each corresponding to different body parts. These zones were made by Peczely who published a book about Iridology in 1861. One prominent practitioner, Bernard Jensen, described it thus: "Nerve fibers in the iris respond to changes in body tissues by manifesting a reflex physiology that corresponds to specific tissue changes and locations."4
With this method, we can use Iridology as a method to early detect human malfunction organ. As we know most of mobile phone have embedded camera to capture images. Furthermore, iridology can be implemented into a cell phone and used easily. Here, we propose Iridology into a Windows Phone by using image processing method. Our Software Project name is Iridology Software (IriS).

Introducing our application: IriS(Iridology Software)

IriS is an application that runs through Windows Phone, so all kinds of people can use it in their mobile phone. By using IriS, people don’t have to take a lot of money just to check their health to the doctor. In addition, IriS doesn’t take so much time, just take a picture of your eyes then Iris will process it and gives the result after that. IriS will detect some serious disease inside our body; at least we know it early so we can prevent ourselves from the worst possibilities. We also don’t have to be disappointed with the result, because we still can make sure to the doctor. There is no limitation for the user target. It is because IriS is an application for Windows Phone, so everybody can use it. Even people that don’t have much time to check their health to the doctor, they can feel so helped by IriS.

As we know that United Nations has 8 MDGs, and IriS takes 2 main points: to combat diseases and global partnership for development.

The target user of IriS is modern worker. IriS also a great product, because it is a simple product but have a big impact to user. And if we talk about target market. IriS have 108 million (BPS , 2011) potential target market just in Indonesia. Can you imagine if we talk globally ?

SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE

FEATURE
Iris has three special features:

1. Detect system
This is a major part of the system of the iris. in this section the user can check the condition of his body through images captured directly using a camera on their mobile phone or make use of existing photos in their storage. The results obtained are the possibilities of organ abnormalities in the body of the user.
In addition, this section will give some suggestion to the user to treat the condition.

2. Appointment with the doctor-related
By selecting an option malfunction organs (eg kidneys), the system also provides the facility to make the appointment with a specialist (kidney doctor) based on the location of the nearest and fastest schedule. This feature have purpose to make user don’t see a long queue because they have making an appoinment before go to the doctor. We wil make some cooperation with some hospital in many city about making this appoinment system work well.

3. Community Development
Iris also provides a facility that aims forum so that we can find out more about the diseases that we suffer (frequently asked questions, discussion, sharing). This forum is categorized based on the disease suffered by the user. This feature have purpose to build a community, support each other. Also we will make some cooperation with some health NGO, goverment, and doctor to help us to build this community.

INTRODUCTION
We are Matakaca, Imagine Cup 2012 team from Universitas Indonesia, Indonesia. We have a solution that we called ‘IriS" (Iridology Software). We will share everything about our project in this page step by step. We hope you enjoy it 

ABOUT MATAKACA
Matakaca is a Imagine Cup 2012 team from Universitas Indonesia. The name "Matakaca" comes from the word "mata" (eyes) and "kaca" (glass) is in the Indonesian language. From the two words that, Matakaca can be concluded as a tool / application related to the human eye by using camera (glass). Matakaca's sound is simply pronounce or listen, we want people can easily remember our team name with that simple word. Matakaca wa born in end of 2011 when Ednaz and Reza talking about what experience they have got from Final World Wide Imagine Cup 2011 in New York. After that, Ednaz asked Rizky to join his Imagine Cup team and finally Matakaca was created. We are not the best, but we are have high spirit and keep improve our quality to chase our dream.

A 3rd year undergraduate student of Computer Engineering, Universitas Indonesia batch 2009. This is the second time he followed the Imagine Cup competition. He is a systematic and detail oriented person. Ednaz also a visionary man who can predict what happen in the future to his project and can think a good strategies to face that situation. The other side of him is, he is a man who would rather avoid a fight and also has tremendous patience

A 3rd year student of Computer Engineering, Universitas Indonesia batch 2009. This is the second time he followed the Imagine Cup. He is actually a ex teammates Ednaz in MACARA team (Finalist Imagine Cup 2011 in Embedded Development Category). Reza is a nice person.
